How Mobile are You?Posted by: Tagged in: mobile

If you stop and think about our ever changing world, it is truly amazing the technology we have available literally at our fingertips. And the question has to be asked, how mobile are you?
If your as old as me you can remember when phones were actually 'dialed' and were attached to the wall. And worse than that, all you could do with them was talk to someone. Today our modern smart phones are actually mobile computing devices with an ever increasing capability, not to mention the advent of tablets.
So how are you taking advantage of this brave new world? Do you text your kids? Do you update your facebook status with your phone? Do you check your email from your phone? Is your 'work' and 'personal' calendar in your hand? Does the reminder for your next meeting buzz on your hip? As a sysadmin, my server alerts come to my phone.
We have developed web sites that determine the users device, and respond accordingly with either a 'mobile face' or a full 'desktop' version. We have developed web sites for clients with applications that allow customers to schedule their own appointments; employees to enter timeclock information; event registration and payment; service status updates; ecommerce and it goes on and on.
It is true that technology can overload and overwhelm. But it is also true that technology enables and empowers. If you ask yourself 'How mobile am I' and are not confident in the answer, we can help. In our upcoming 'Pennies on the Dollar' seminars we will discuss how today's entrepreneur can start a business with a fraction of the costs of just a few years ago. We can also show you ways you can use current cloud services to remain as productive as ever, but allow much more freedom from 'the office'.
